Simple Steps

Step 1

Gather all your materials and print the template sheet.

Step 2
Colour in the design using your preferred colours. You can colour one child or both.
Step 3
Cut out the pieces. Don’t forget the rectangle in the middle of the card.
Step 4
There is no need to cut exactly along the character outlines, leave a small border around them.
Step 5
Cut a piece of coloured card slightly larger than the centre rectangle, leaving about a 3 mm border on all sides.
Step 6
Turn the father figure over and place adhesive tape at the top and bottom, as shown.
Step 7
Turn the pieces back over without sticking them down, and write your message (e.g. “Happy Father’s Day”) on the coloured section.
Step 8
Turn the card over again and place adhesive tape along the top and bottom edges, following the outline carefully.
Step 9
Insert the arrow between the coloured card and the main card. Do not glue the arrow, as it needs to slide freely. Then secure the edges of the card to the coloured backing.
Step 10
Attach the child figure to the end of the arrow and decorate the arrow with hearts if you like.
Step 11
By pulling the arrow, the message is revealed and the child comes to give dad a hug!
Step 12
Get creative! Add your own decorations, drawings, or extra messages to make the card truly special and personal for Dad. You can decorate your card however you like!
