Crafting with things you already have is not just fun and educational, but good for you and the planet. It’s a brilliant way to create sustainably while building your skills.

With this activity, you’ll be able to hold a jellyfish in your hands without getting stung. Then, easily make an aquarium out of a tissue box to hold your colourful jellyfish.

Simple Steps

Step 1

Gather the necessary materials and download and print the template.

Step 2

Now, grab your ocean felt tips and get creative! Colour in the jellyfish template with whatever colours you like.

Step 3

Carefully cut out all the different bits and pieces from the template. Take your time with this!

Step 4

To get the wavy effect on the tentacles, gently run the blade of your scissors along each strip. Be careful with this step!

Step 5

To make the main body of your jellyfish, stick the white strip to its end, as shown in the photo.

Step 6

Now attach the head to the body. Glue two parts together (there are 8 petal-shaped parts on the head, glue the 2 at the end of each other).

Step 7

Carry on with the remaining head sections, always one end at the same time as the other and fix all 8 sections together securely.

Step 8

Make a little hole at the very top of the jellyfish and tie a piece of thread through it for hanging.

Step 9

Now for your aquarium. Cut out an empty tissue box and paint it – perhaps a cool blue for the sea!

Step 10

Once the paint’s dry, attach your jellyfish and any other decorations you like to the top inside of the box so they hang down.

Step 11

And there you have it, a pretty jellyfish in its aquarium! Write its name on the label and stick it on the aquarium!
