Here’s a great craft activity to personalise your Christmas decorations and share a creative moment with your family! These 3D Christmas baubles are easy to make with a template, some paper, thread, and coloured pencils.
To make this pretty decoration, follow the steps below with our video tutorial!
how to make Christmas baubles
Step 1
Download the patterns of the paper Christmas baubles to colour and personalise. Print the ones you want to use and prepare your art supplies.
Step 2
Color the strips for your personalised Christmas baubles with markers and coloured pencils! Add some sparkle with glitter glue or stickers. Or, use the pre-coloured templates for a quick and easy option.
Step 3
Cut each strip along the red dotted lines. You will then have 6 strips which will be used to make one bauble.
Step 4
Using a needle, poke a hole at the ends and in the middle of each strip. There are marks showing where to poke these 3 holes.
This will let you attach them together later to form your bauble.
Step 5
Prepare your Christmas bauble holder:
- 1 piece of wire, 15cm long
- 2 beads in your chosen colour
- 1 piece of cotton thread, 15cm long, to hang your bauble
Step 6
Bend one end of the wire to create a small loop that will act as a hook.
Slide a bead onto the wire so that it locks against the loop (see image on the right).
Step 7
Slide the strips you’ve prepared onto the wire one by one, with the decorated side facing the beads.
Step 8
Once it is all put together, here is the result.
Step 9
Fold each strip in half. To do this, thread the ends of each strip onto the wire, one by one.
Step 10
Close the wire with a loop to stop the bead from falling off. Add the thread and tie it with a knot to hang your bauble. Cut off the excess thread.
Your personalised Christmas bauble is ready!
Step 11
Hang your Christmas bauble on the tree for a homemade decoration!
