If you wish you were on holiday you can pretend you are by the sea with this activity! Follow our step-by-step guide and create a cardboard aquarium with fish that move in the water. It’s simple and the result is very pretty!
You will need
- Paints
- Paint brush
- White paper
- Coloured paper
- Colouring pens or pencils
- Scissors
- Glue
Spiders
Step 1
Spread black paint over the palm and fingers of one hand using a paint brush.
Step 2
Once your hand is covered with paint, place it horizontally on a large white sheet of paper, as in the photo. Press down firmly.
Step 3
Do the same with the left hand, in the other direction, to form the entire body of the spider. Then wash your hands!
Step 4
Now decorate the paper with a fine felt-tip pen or black colouring pencils, by tracing cobwebs at the corners.
Step 5
On a white piece of paper, draw eyes and a mouth with colouring pens and cut them out with scissors.
Step 6
Now simply glue the face onto the spider and watch your spooky friend come to life !

And there you go! A spooky Halloween spider! We chose to make ours friendly but you can could try making scary or monstrous spiders! It’s up to you to let your imagination run wild!
Pumpkin
Step 1
Put orange paint in the palm of one hand and green paint at the base of the middle finger then spread with a brush.
Step 2
Place your hand vertically on a white sheet of paper, as in the photo. Press firmly and then lift it away.
Step 3
The palm forms the pumpkin and the green represents the stalk. Now wash your hands.
Step 4
Now it’s time to decorate the pumpkin. With a fine felt tip pen or colouring pencils, draw the grass and vine in green and the grooves of the pumpkin in orange.
Step 5
Then draw the face in black. Two triangles for the eyes and a zigzag mouth!
Step 6
Display on the wall for a spooky Halloween decoration or make cards to wish your friends a Happy Halloween!
